Welcome to Flags of Freedom

We want to show the nation how much we care about our veterans and our military.  The Bureau County Flags of Freedom project and Memorial Wall are our way of thanking past, present and future veterans, as well as their families, for their service to our country.

Phase I of the Veterans Memorial is the Flags of Freedom Memorial was completed on Sept 10th, 2005. Located at the intersection on Interstate 80 and Hiway 26 at the north edge of Princeton, the 4 flagpoles are positioned on each corner of the intersection.

Each flag weighs 110 pounds and measures 30X60 feet. These four magnificent lighted flags capture the attention of travelers on Interstate 80.

Our veterans have made great sacrifices to keep our nation free. The Flags of Freedom is a fitting reminder of their service and of our gratitude. Read the special "\thank you" for the project.
